While I ran my own business, I was technical project manager for the development of a concept called ‘paper radio’ offered by MainStation. A music service with streamed music for newspaper sites. The concept was based on genre-based music where the listener could choose which genres they wanted from the existing sets. Based on the choices a random playlist was created and started playing. After I left the project it continued it’s own life for some years until Aller Edge Media bought the company and the service, the product was provided to, amongst other, the swedish business newspaper Dagens Industri, where it ran for about two years. The project, and product, is now ‘dead’.

Armed Forces Radio

Live radio with the Swedish Armed Forces

Description

From around 1998 until 2008 I have taken part in more national and international military exercises than most senior officers do. In principle, we call it OB broadcasts, Outside Broadcasting, housed in a drill hall, container or trailer, it was produced with 3-4 people doing “around the clock” radio during the exercises. Either the radio has consisted of so-called information radio, to inform the public what happens during excercise, games or media radio where we were a part of the excercise management and actively worked to give the practiced persona a feel of the pressure from media. I was offered in 2008 to serve as a radio technician for the Nordic Battle Group, but chose, for financial reasons, to decline even though it probably would have been great fun.

Analog to Digital

Description

We had, for many years, produced our web and mobile radiochannels by making use of standardized software for radioproduction.

Problem: The music is digital, production requires that we go through analog environment into another computer and then make the digital again.

Solution: A new broadcastingsoftware, with requirements set by me, that encodes directly into streams instead of playing them out analogy. The software was specifically developed for us, in its current form, and we are now fully digital in production. And the amount of servers used for the production has gone from 24 to 6…

Description

We’ve got two things to do for Radioakademin every year. We keep their webpage updated with the info needed to keep them going, in 2012, we introduced a new layout for the webpage which also was responsive (works equally good on both mobile terminals as well as regular computers).

The other work includes setting up systems for gathering contributions to the Stora Radiopriset (yearly radioawards) – we then, together with the awards-committee put them together in batches and send them to the respective jurygroups. After they’ve had their initial say we publish the nominated parties on the webpage, september 20th we had a big gala-dinner with all the prizes being delivered to their winners. Via wordpress we scheduled all the winners and they where automatically published after the gala was over.
